FAQ

  • Most people could benefit from therapy. You do not have to wait until your life feels unmanageable to get started. Therapy can help if you are wanting to better understand yourself, strengthen your ability to work through emotions, learn skills to navigate life stressors, work through past experiences that may be holding you back, etc.

If you find that past experiences, current stressors, or fears about the future are keeping you from living the sort of life you want to live, you would be a great fit for therapy.

  • Every person is unique, so the length of time in therapy can vary. Your therapist will collaborate with you to determine a plan that fits your goals, needs, and life circumstances. Our aim is to support you in working through the challenges you're facing and help you build the tools and insight needed to move forward with confidence.

If we're doing our job well, we won’t be in your life forever—just long enough to help you feel equipped to handle whatever comes next.

  • Once you reach out to inquire about starting therapy, we’ll schedule a brief intake phone call—typically about 10 minutes. During this call, we’ll gather some basic information to help match you with a therapist who fits your needs and determine the best payment options for you. After the call, we’ll coordinate with you to schedule your first therapy session.

  • In your first session, your therapist will begin by reviewing important information about the therapy process, including policies, confidentiality, and what you can expect moving forward. They’ll also spend time getting to know you—gathering background information about your mental health, physical health, relationships, and spirituality. Together, you’ll explore your goals for therapy and discuss which therapeutic approaches may best support your needs.

  • We understand that therapy can be a financial commitment, and we don’t want cost to stand in the way of getting the support you need. If affordability is a concern, here are some options to consider:

    • Sliding Scale Fee: We offer a limited number of reduced-rate sessions ($75/session) based on financial need and personal circumstances.

    • Bishop/Clergy Pay: If you belong to a faith community, your bishop or religious leader may be able to help cover the cost of therapy sessions.

    • Group Therapy: Group sessions are often more affordable than individual or couples therapy and still provide a meaningful space to learn skills, process emotions, and connect with others.

    • Community Resources: We’re happy to connect you with local organizations that offer free or low-cost therapy services to those who qualify.

If you’re unsure what option is right for you, reach out—we’re here to help you find a path forward.

  • It’s incredibly important that you feel safe, supported, and able to connect with your therapist. If at any point you feel the fit isn’t quite right, please don’t hesitate to let us know. We’re here to help and would be happy to assist you in finding a therapist who better aligns with your needs and preferences.

  • We get it—life happens! If you need to reschedule a session, we just ask that you provide at least 24 hours notice. This allows us time to offer that spot to another client.

Late cancellations or missed sessions will be charged the full session fee, as insurance companies typically do not cover these costs.

If something unexpected comes up, please reach out—we’ll do our best to work with you.
